Reach London Buyers – In London

Independent estate agencies across the Westcountry will be taking details of property for sale in the region directly to buyers in London on Thursday 26th July.

If your property isn’t going already, time is running out to get it showcased free of charge at the Experts in Property Westcountry Property Exhibition, being held at the prestigious offices of Lawson & Daughters in Fulham.

A staggering number of all people who move to the Westcountry come from the London boroughs. New data published by the Office for National Statistics reveals that during the 12-month period up to the 30th June 2017, a total of around 243,730 people moved into Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Bristol & Somerset, with almost 10% of these from the capital’s 33 Local Authority regions.

The figures show an increase in the number of people who moved into the Westcountry from the boroughs of almost 15% from the previous year, from around 20,110 to 22,990. 43% of these moved into Bristol & Somerset, 24% and 23% into Devon and Dorset respectively and 10% to Cornwall.

Steve Moir, chairman of the Experts in Property network, believes there a number of factors influencing the rise. He said: “London house prices, the acceptance and rise in the number of people working from home, and the urge for a more relaxed work:life balance in the younger generations, have all played their part in the increase in popularity of the Westcountry. The average age of our buyers from out of the area seems to have shifted down from 50+ to 40+, and there is more demand for home offices, studios and annexes than ever before.

“By holding regular exhibitions in the capital, we’re tapping directly into that market.”

The exhibition will showcase all types of property from all over the Westcountry, so there is something to suit all buyers.
